Roach stood in front of the group of Task Force members as if he belonged there. His hazel eyes were narrowed and as serious as Mactavish’s baby blues would have been while briefing his team of highly trained warriors. Though Gary’s playful smile showed his teeth and gave away the true intent of his mock briefing. Still, Roach enjoyed pretending that his uniform sported the gold bars of a Lieutenant or the silver of a Capitan, if only for an hour.
“Men, this is a real word operation that has been sent down from-” Roach cut himself off after hearing half concealed chuckles from the back of the room. No matter how many times Roach practiced his attempts at trying to perfect his Scottish Highland accent he failed miserably and Meat could never control his laughter. “Anyway,” Roach dropped his fake accent, slipping gratefully back into the American. Roach couldn’t even sound European let alone Scottish. “It’s Mactavish’s birthday and I’m in charge of telling you guys the plan of attack and the rules of engagement.”
Only ten minutes ago Roach had walked outside to take an innocent smoking break, fill his lungs with nicotine then get on with his day, when Ghost brutally yanked him back into the building he had just vacated. The Lieutenant grabbed Roach’s unlit cigarette and shoved it back into Roach’s pocket. Gary protested as Riley informed him quickly of his plans for Mactavish’s birthday celebration including Gary’s role and what Ghost needed to have happen. Apparently for this Op he would need brief ground support and temporary cover fire. After the Lt. explained he shoved a heavy pack into Roach’s hand and informed him that he had a present to wrap.

It was a dangerous mission. They all were well aware of that. But as usual, they were going to do it anyways. Slowly they inched their way towards the aim that was just down the hall. So close but still so painfully far away. Ghost was smirking, he had his balaclava pulled down so that the fabric didn’t hide it. He loved this thrill of sneaking around, always being endangered to be detected.
Good that none of the three men was going to accept failure. In his peripheral vision the Lieutenant could see his Sergeant grinning this dangerous grin, just like always when they were up to no good.
“Right.”, whispered Riley and turned around to his team, pressing a finger to his lips. Meat was pressed flat against the wall of the corridor, Roach was hunched over the box he was carrying. Ghost held up three fingers and counted down, whilst firmly grabbing the handle of the door that read “MacTavish” in bold letters on a metal plate. The second his fingers reached zero he turned the handle and carefully pushed the door open. Luckily he had picked the lock a few minutes ago.
After a few seconds of agonizing and tense waiting and inspecting the enemy territory Ghost relaxed and casually entered the room of their Captain. It was painfully tidy, like no one actually used it.
Relieved that the aim of their mission was not there Roach dared to enter as well. Meat stood guard outside on the hall.
“Woo… Mister Proper’s room is a mess compared to this.”
Ghost chuckled and leaned against the desk, scanning the room for a place to hide his surprise.
“Yah and that’s what we gotta change. Where should we put it?”

John never put much faith in mythology. Hell, the first part of the word was “myth”. But he was convinced that Simon had to be something from an old Greek legend; one part Siren, one part Incubus. There was no other way to explain it. When they’d first met, he’d heard the song, that quiet, distant humming, pulling him in and demanding all of his attention. Simon had that way about him, that way of drawing you in and making you question how anyone could hate him. Sure, he was irritating, but that was part of what made him so incredible. People who were “charming” were interesting on a surface level, polite and amiable, but only when their glaring flaws were less obvious. But people who are charismatic, like Riley, even when their flaws are showing, right in your face, you couldn’t help but be interested in them, attracted to them on many levels, no matter the circumstances. That was what made John believe Simon was a Siren. They’d known each other for a few months before he started believing Simon was a Incubus.
MacTavish was sitting on the couch in his living room when the knock at the door came. He wasn’t expecting any company… Simon was leaning against the wall outside his door with a coy smile.
“What are you doing here, Riley?”
“You seemed tense today after the training sessions. Figured we might as well get pissed to forget how terrible a shot Chemo is with anything larger than a nine millimeter.”
John knew there was more to it than just that, but he decided to not comment. He instead opened the door a little wider and invited the Lieutenant inside. Riley was brandishing a bottle of vodka and a grin as he stepped inside, and the Captain took one glance at the label before deciding the Brit had damn good taste.
They didn’t get completely wasted, but after a few solid shots of the vodka, they were both feeling pretty goddamn good about life. Simon had slowly inched his way closer and closer to the Captain over the course of their hours spent drinking and watching some shitty science fiction movie marathon. John wasn’t sure exactly how it happened, but he soon had a lapful of Riley and a mouthful of unfamiliar tongue. Once the initial surprise of the act wore off (not that it took long), he responded immediately, winding dark hair around his fingers and tugging at it, just enough to hurt, enough to remind Simon that his attempts at dominance weren’t going to come to fruition.

First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR to ALL!
To celebrate 100,000 hits on ACOD (and the beginning of a new year), here is the plan (thanks to an Anon guest’s awesome suggestion):
Daltc and Sdal will each draw a COD (most likely involving Ghost/Soap/both) fanart. Before posting them, we will ask people to sign up for writing fictions based on one of the drawings. We will RANDOMLY assign each writer to one drawing (you don’t know which one you will be assigned to XD). This is not a competition, but a fun event where different writers interpret same things from their own perspective/imagination!
Now, some simple rules about your submission:
1, your fiction must be somewhat related to the drawing assigned to you
2, your fiction must contain the number “100,000″
3, your fiction can be in any length (a paragraph or a full-length fiction, your call. Your participation is the most valued thing!)
4, please submit on Tumblr by clicking on the Submit Your Fic Here! link, or send it to macriley123(at)gmail.com by Feb 1, 2012
Again, everyone is welcome to participate! Hope this is fun for everyone! =3 Please send us a Ask to this Tumblr if you’d like to participate by Jan 7, 2012!
